Kim Virk BSc (Hons), MSc, MAREBT, MBABCP, MSGFB. Accredited with the BABCP, AREBT & SGFB.
I have worked in talking psychological therapies since 2009 and as the Clinical Lead for an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Service covering the south east of England. My most recent work as Head of Student Support Services at an international school has enabled me to work with children and teenagers in a counselling and learning support capacity. Working with this age group has highlighted the importance of recognising the emotional and psychological challenges they face during critical stags of development.
I have been trained in advanced techniques, such as; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which has a strong evidence base for treating a wide range of issues.
I also provide supervision for qualified and trainee therapist’s.
My approach is to offer a professionally supportive, reflective and gentle space in which clients may explore the issues that are troubling them.
